Some technical practices of fertilizer use for crops in the central highlands
In central highland condition nitrogen is evaporated easily. Therefore, applying nitrogen fertilizer must be covered by surface soil. Ratio of N form which were suitable for coffee and cane sugar was 3 urea: 1 sulphate ammonium. In rainy season potassium is leached strongly. Splitting potassium fertilizer into 4 times to apply to pepper gave higher yield than twice. On the basaltic soil phosphate fixation takes place strongly. The lower content of organic matter is, the higher fixation happens. Therefore, the combination of phosphorus and organic manure for crops should be encouraged.
