Some observations on agricultural soil environment in Dak Lak province
No difference between reddish brown soil and yellowish brown soils in chemical properties. Good physical properties of basaltic yellowish-red soils are offset by their low pH and low plant nutrient content. Virtually most plant nutrients contain in soil organic matter and can be lost when the organic matter is eroded. Therefore, effective measures during basaltic land use should be applied in order to maintain organic matter content.
