SUMMARY
Ba Be is a poor mountainous district northwest of the Bac Kan province with an area of 68.412.00ha, accounting for 14.08% of the total land area of the province, the population is 47,011 people. Ba Be Lake and the Ba Be national Park is the ideal destination for many tourists. Soil and water quality in Ba be is still good and meet Vietnam quality standard. However, due to rapid economic development, the water and soil environment will be considered in the near future. There are evidences of soil and water pollution in high population density places such as Cho Ra town and Ba Be ecosystem tourist area. It requires safeguards and effective environmental management during the rapid socio-economic development.
