Ca than upland rice. Maize cultivation in upland is more sustainable of soil containing more exch. Ca. paddy rice terrace is a sustainable land use high yield, good maintaining of exch. Ca in soil. More focusing of attention on exchangeable Ca in cropping transition from coffee into cotton, maize on basaltic soil of central highland. A exch. Ca rating in soil is proposed.
