Land use and management in agricultural-forestry state farms in Lao Cai provinnce

SUMMARY

During the period of 2005-2015, Lao Cai province has re – organized, renovated activity models of agricultural – forestry state farms: dissoluting 06 farms due to inefficiency in business; equitizating 01 farm; changing 04 farms into companies limited one – member. The land area under 06 dissoluted farms have been transferred to local authorities and forest protection management board. Four agricultural – forestry state farms after changing management form, have got successes in business, although several remainings should be overcome: so many fallowed land existed (focused in Van Ban farm with 1,410ha); illegal land lease still existed (178.5ha in Phong Hai Tea company); encroachment of farm land still happened (379.15ha in Bao Yen forestry company); boundary demarcation work, land use right certificate issueing were implemented slowly.
