Application of local experiences in the soil classification by Co Tu minority group in Nam Dong district Thua Thien Hue province
Co Tu people has methodology on classifying soil type, which was based on soil colors, soil humid/moist, earthworm and soil structure, specially, development and growth of vegetation/plants. Agricultural and forestry extensionists applied indigenous knowledge about classifying soil types, traditional farming technical of Co Tu people and modern technique to guide and train for communities aiming at planning land use and applying appropriate farming technique in order to increase efficiency of land use, as well as to protect and improve land.
