Summary
Potassium and sulphur dynamic in the soils under tea plantations
Total soil K content decreased in response to cultivation, whereas available K and total S increased or unchanged. Changes in K and S were mainly at the surface 0-40cm layer, but in subsoil layers (40-80cm depth) there were exhibited no significant change during 40 years of the cultivation. Fertilization has a great impact on soil properties. This is an important approach to maintain soil nutrients, especially, K and S content in the tea soils. It is necessary to apply K fertilizer for tea cultivation, in the other hand, S element is already supplied to the soils during apply fertilizers containing S such as K2SO4.
