CEC is an important index in FAO/UNESCO soil classification. As the analysis of clay mineral component is being determined by rather sophisticated and costly, exact analysis of CEC in soil therefore is required from such analysis, is enable to quantify clay minerals in soil. Besides, CEC is also a key target on soil fertility.
