Characteristics of the soils of Khsách Kandal district, Kandal province, Cambodia

Research soils include main soils groups as: fluvisols, cambisols, gleysols, acrisols with 7 soil units: eutric fluvisols, eutric cambisols, gleyic cambisols, eutric gleysols, haplic acrisols, plinthic acrisols and gleyic acrisols. Fluvisols, cambisols, gleysols with moderate fertility are characterized by following properties: texture was from sandy loam to loam or clay. CEC: 11.1-17.0me/100g soil; pH (H₂O) 5-7.5, pH(KCl) 3.8-6.1, OM: 1.5-4.2%, total N 0.09-0.20%, total P₂O₅ 0.06-0.16%, total K₂O 1.2-2.6%. Acrisols was low in fertility due to light texture, low CEC, acidity and low content of total OM, N, P₂O₅ and K₂O.
