Impact of agroforestry on soil erosion
Improved techniques with hedgerows reduced runoff 20-30% and soil loss 50-70% compared with that in bare soil and farmer’s practice. On soil with heavy texture hillside ditches and bunding combined with hedgerows showed more effect on erosion control. It can reduce soil loss 70-80% in comparison with bare soil and farmer’s practice.
