Identification the phaeozems in Cao Bang province
Phaeozems in Cao Bang compose of 3 soil units and 4 soil subunits. They are porous, well aerated soils with moderate to strong, very stable, crumb to blocky structures. They have good water storage capacity. Many phaeozems are lack of water in dry season. The organic matter content of the top soils around 3%; pH value 5-7. Cation exchange capacity of them s 30-50Cmol/kg dry clay. The base saturation is 50-80%. They are fertile soils and excellent farm land. There are widely grown of subsidiary crops, fruits and perennial trees.
