Research on producing bio-organic fertilizer from chicken manure mixed with cotton yarn waste by the improved semi-aerobic landfill method

SUMMARY
The experiment on producing compost from chicken manure and cotton yarn waste by applying the semi aerobic landfill method (Hatta Landfill, 1970) of Fukuoka of Japan. The experiment was conducted with two methods: the improved semi-aerobic method by supplying pumping air into waste heap to compare with the aerobic method by excavating waste heap following time. The experiment includes 4 different treatments mixing between chicken manure and cotton yarn waste showed the temperature of waste heap in improved semi aerobic method obtained higher temperature from 65 đến 70OC and retained the heat longer than common aerobic method. That showed the high activation of microorganism and its strong decomposing ability in waste heap. The results of evaluating some criteria of compost quality after 30 and 60 days such as pH, OC%, N%, avaiable P2O5 and K2O and the production cost showed the higher effect of improved semi aerobic method. Research results showed the ability of applying the improved semi aerobic method in production of high quality compost from chicken manure and cotton waste that contrubutes to safe agricultural production and environment protection.
