The phosphate buffering capacity of pond base for Artemia raising at Vinh Chau district, Soc Trang province
Pond having high organic matter, high dissolved Ca and low iron mottle resulted in low adsorbed P. P adsorption in 4 ponds were low. This result was in agreement with Udo et al, (1984), that P adsorption of saline soil is low. Farmers supplied P to Artemia pond with concentration of 2.6-14.2 ppm. From the adsorption curve, this concentration leads to P adsorbed in a range of 74 – 95%. This result can provide a basic information for further study on P balance for optimal P nutrient in Artemia culture
