Results of studying on mesofauna groups living in different landscapes in Son La province
Specimens were collected in 3 biotops: the secondary forest, savanna and grassland. Results: there were 31 mesofauna groups, belong to 6 classes: insecta, cruatacea, chilopoda, diplododa, arachnida and oligochaeta. Among them, formicidae, isoptera and megascolecidae were the most common groups expressing in their appearance in all biotops as well as their domination in either the total individual number or the total biomass per m2. The group number of mesofauna in the secondary forest soil was always higher than other biotops. In spite of having lower individual number than in the savanna soil, the proportion of the average biomass of mesofauna groups to their individual number in the secondary forest soils was always higher than other biotops. The levels of vegetation covering effect significantly on the composition and the distribution of mesofauna groups. Therefore, we could use mesofauna groups as bio-indicators to evaluate the real state of the soil’s utilization. Conversely, we could predict the status of mesofauna groups of we known exactly their habitats.
