Soil survey, soil mapping and land suitability mapping in resettled area of Dong village, Tam Duong commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province
Soils of this area is mostly acid, soil texture is medium loam to heavy loam. Almost of this land is used for agricultural and forestry purposes. Regard to suitability of soils in the area cultivation of several crops as rice, subsidiary crops and fruit tree, the types of soil are mostly at suitable level (S2) with the main limitation factor tat is poor irrigation condition. It is necessary to investment to improve the infrastructure especially irrigation system adequately in the area in order to utilize effectively the soil resources for agricultural development.
