Acid sulfate soils of the Mekong delta: depth and physical properties of soil layers containing sulfidic material
Along river banks, top boundary of sulfidic layer can be found at deeper 100cm below soil surface but it can be found within 100cm of topsoil layer in the areas from river banks. Except for the acid sulphate areas, most of ending boundary of sulfidic layer in Mekong delta can extend to deeper 5m below soil surface. Specific gravity and wet bulk density of sulfidic layers only vary within 2.4-2.7g/cm2 and 1.3-1.5g/cm3 respectively, which are typical values of loam and clay loam textured soils.
