Summary
Soil potassium forms in some soil types in Thua Thien – Hue
Total, available and immediately available potassium in 3 soils types were studied. Total and available potassium on alluvial soil of Huong River is rather high, but its immediately available form is lower in comparison to other alluvial sols in the North of Vietnam. The above mentioned 3 potassium forms on ferralic soil developed from granite are much lower in comparison to the same soil type in Tay Thien, Vinh Phuc province, Northern Vietnam. Total soil potassium on ferralic soil developed from sandy stone is the same as that of soil developed from granite, but its available and immediately form are lower. Based on the content of different forms of soil potassium, the K supplying capacity of alluvial soil of Huong River is highest and the lowest is shown on soil developed from sandy stone.
