Summary

Potash forms in marine sandy soils and method of determination

Analyse of 24 top soil samples. Total potassium content in these soils must be determined by digestion with 4 acid mixture. These soils could be classified as containing medium total K content soil group. Slowly available and immediately available potassium (SAP and IAP) contents are very low. For determination of slowly available potassium, hot H2SO4 method gives better result than boiling HNO₃ method. Good fertilization and crop management could increase SAP and IAP in the soils.
