Summary
Organic matter decomposition activity in soil as affected by different input of organic fertilizer sources
Organic mater decomposition was highest in degraded soils but this rate was not a good indice for soil fertility. Usually soils having high fertility have higher number of total micro-organism than the others. Different input of organic materials affected clearly on the rate of organic matter decomposition of soils. Red river alluvial soils have a good buffering capacity of organic matter decomposition. Meanwhile degraded matter decomposes as rapidly as 43g CO2 per m2 per day.
