SUMMARY
Synthesizing existing research clarifies the relationship between soil health and forest vegetation. Natural forests maintain stable soil health through a dynamic balance within forest ecosystems. However, clearing natural forests poses a risk to soil health. Large-scale monoculture plantations require careful management due to the increased risk of severe pest infestations, erosion, and reduced soil fertility. The significant erosion in mangrove areas of the Mekong Delta is a critical warning for the region’s soil health. Diversifying plantation species and protecting and restoring natural forests are essential strategies for stabilizing forest health.
In recent times, the term health is widely used in many fields such as environmental health, economic health, plant health, etc., including soil health. The current state of forest soil health needs to be identified and clarified in relation to the forest vegetation presented in this paper.
