Using the Smass model to simulate the effects of flood water on the reclamation of acid sulphate soils in the Mekong delta, Vietnam
Evaluations of the effects of flood water on 3 soil profiles in flood and non-flood conditions have been presented. Flood water has affected mainly on the top layer (0-20cm), the below layer seems to be no affected. On cultivated land, the effects of flood are clearly. In case of acid sulphate soils be protected against flood, the quality of soils seems to be no change if there are no other activities for leaching and flushing toxic ions.
