Summary
Chemical properties of mangrove forest soils in Tam Giang, Ca Mau province
Research results: soil quality of different species of mangrove plantation is fairly good with high concentration of Ca, Mg, K and good with content of total N and P. however, in some plantations soil quality is bad with the presence of jarosite, high content of H+, ow concentration of cation include Ca, Mg, K. These results were due to canal excavation for shrimp production. In fish culture and shrimp culture, one of different actors should be care is soil quality and water quality improvement related to soil on order to achieve high production for sustainable development. “Sap” is sone type of organic soil in the coastal area which mixed with litter and shell decomposition. This soil type has good chemical and physical characters can be used in agriculture for different culture in the buffer zone such as pumpkin, chill, mungbean, onion, sweet potato to diversify the models of culture and help farmers to increases their income.
