Actual status and efficiency of agricultural land use in Y Yen district, Nam Dinh province

SUMMARY

Agricultural land use plays an important role in supplying agricultural products for people, increasing the income of land users, and contributes significally to the protection of environment, landscape in the rural area. The research objective is to assess the actual status of agricultural land use and efficiency of Land Use Type (LUT) in the district. The results show that there were 3 Land Use Types (LUT) with 12 sub – LUTs. For land – use efficiency, in zone 1 with 4 sub – LUTs and zone 2 with 8 sub – LUTs of vegatable and annual crops were estimated as high efficiency, the sub – LUTs (2 rice crops + 1 annual crop) were medium efficiency and sub – LUT (2 rice crops) was assessed as the lowest efficiency.
