Summary
Sloping soil degradation under traditional cultivation in North-Eastern region
Nutrient levels lowered very quickly after 4 cultivated years on the slopping fields, especially in term of cation elements. Therefore, CEC and base saturation levels are low. Due to nutrient losses the annual crop yield reduced, especially maize. Reasons of soil degradation are inappropriate cultivated methods of farmers and unfavourable tropic weather.
