Study on individual and combination effects of nitrogen-fixing and phosphate solubilizing bacteria on growth and grain yield of single cross maize and on some soil nutrients
Trials were conducted for 4 crops. Data showed that nitrogen biofertilizer and phosphate biofertilizer could replace chemical nitrogen and superphosphate. Biofertilizers gave better growth and grain yield. Nitrogen biofertilizer could replace 40% of urea. Phosphate biofertilizer could replace 50% of superphosphate. The effect of biofertilizers was more pronounced in combination of nitrogen and phosphate biofertilizers than in individual. Application of biofertilizers could improve soil fertility and reduce pollution of environment.
