Summary
Litterfall production, leaf litter decomposition and sesarmind breakdown of leaf 2 mangrove species Rhizophora apiculate and Ceriops tagal in Tam Giang forest enterprise, Ca Mau province
Litterfall production, leaf litter decomposition and sesarmid breakdown of leaf of 2 species Rhizophora apiculate and Ceriops tagal in Tam Giang forest state farm were carried out in the forest 9 year old and at 2 sites inside of shrimp pond and at the natural forest Tam Giang I, Ca Mau. Results of total amount of litterfall was given. There was no seasonal clear effect on the litterfall of 2 species, but the growth of leaves correlated to the precipitation and evaporation of water regime. Leaf decomposition of 2 species Rhizophora and Ceriops showed no difference in function of time for both 2 cases inside the shrimp pond and in the natural forest. Rhizophora leaves were more rapid decomposed than Ceriops.
