The main characteristics of soil and land use for agriculture in Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province
Soils there are grouped in 3 main groups: fluvisols, arenosols and lixisols. Constrain of fluvisols for agriculture are acid by topsoil and saline in deep layers caused by sea water intrusion. Arenosols are dry, poor in organic matter nutrients. Lixisols are dry, compact and poor in nutrients. Beside of soil problems, the constraints for agriculture are hot weather and poor farmers. They having low human development index and low understanding on soils and fertilizers utilization. That indicated by poor in farming systems.
