Fractionation of Cu, Cd, Pb and Zn in agricultural soil influenced by trade village of recycled zinc and handmade goods of copper
Fractionation of Cu, Cd, Pb and Zn was made by the sequential chemical extraction to partition heavy metals into 5 operationally defined fractions: exchangeable, carbonates-bonds, Fe-Mn oxides-bound, organic-bound and residual. In agricultural soils the highest proportion was observed in the residual, Fe-Mn oxides fraction or organic-bound, depending on the heavy metals. This indicates the intimate association of heavy metals with clay particles, Fe-Mn oxides or organic matter, suggesting the existence of heavy metals as the stable form in agricultural soils. The partitioning of Cu depended on its total concentration. In agricultural soils containing the concentrations below 80 mg/kg, Cu was mostly concentrated in the residual fraction. In agricultural soils having the concentration above 150 mg/kg, Cu was mostly concentrated in the organic fraction.
